Congratulations to NBBCC bushcare group who have been successful in receiving a 3 year QLD GOV Grassroots Environmental Grant to assist volunteers with Cooloosa Urban Wetland Stage 5 rehabilitation – The Big One!

NICA’s weed warriors are on fire! We nailed two hugely successful outings to Sheep Island, ripping out Easter Cassia before it could drop its destructive seeds.

NICA recently thanked volunteer Jill Dening for her outstanding 20 years of monitoring and protecting migratory and resident shorebirds across South-East Queensland, and in particular the Noosa Estuary.

NICA was delighted to join Noosa Council and other local environmental groups for discussions on the Destination Management Plan.

As part of the Tread Lightly program we visited Woods Bay on 19th February. A lovely spot but full of Gloriosa, Asparagus, Corky passionflower and Easter cassia weeds.
