Our bushcare group, Noosa Bush Beach and Creek Care, have been diligently attacking the insidious Singapore Daisy from the Seaview Creek dunes.
During the last few weeks we have been rewarded with numerous whale sightings. Heading south with their babies they pause to wave and say hello, flapping their fins and frolicking about which gave us extra excuses to stop our weeding and stretch. Last week a further surprise when an Osprey flew into the Seaview Creek shallows only metres from us to check out the area.
Our presence in our bright yellow shirts and Jill in hot pink, obviously didn’t deter it from its bathing ritual and it happily splashed and dunked and ruffled his feathers before flying off towards the headland. Aware of the latest reports on bird flu, we were watching for any signs of weakness etc but it soon became apparent it was a healthy specimen.
It made our day and brought smiles to our faces. Just another Thursday morning bonus!
