Volunteers…. are you ready…. get set… the weather is improving
When?
Thursday 24 September 8.00-10.30am is the start of our project to “Break the Weedy Grip” from around the arc/crescent/Ox-bow of Weyba Creek.
Where?
Meet at the picnic shelter at Nancy Cato Park on the corner of Noosa Parade and Dolphin Cres. Good parking in Dolphin Cres.
What is the focus?
We will be working around the park perimeter and along the terrestrial edge of the creek (down Noosa Pde towards the Weyba Roundabout). The major weeds are easily identifiable, and we will have samples.
Weeds include;
Asparagus clumps and smaller plants.
Corky Passion Vine is up the trees and weaving its way through the grass.
Mile-a-Minute in the trees, some flowering.
Easter Cassia, Ochna (Mickey Mouse plant).
Singapore Daisy.
What will I need?
Hat, water, gloves.
Long sleeve shirt and enclosed shoes are recommended.
We have tools, weed bags.
We provide morning tea, but if you are a whizz at biscuits, muffins etc. please don’t hold back.
