Herbaceous plants, sometimes called forbes, are plants that aren’t woody. In a garden setting they can be annoying or undesired. Some don’t become a big worry in the bush, think of Cobblers Peg or Flick Weed. Then there are other herbs like Mother of Millions or Asparagus Fern that can completely change an ecosystem.
Cinderella weed hasn’t been a big concern for me until this summer. It has loved the recent wet weather and is spreading quickly through my lawn. It has also moved from the lawn into the native grass areas and is taking over. I’m now treating it as a threat and pulling it out. In areas where it has formed a mat I will spray with Glyphosate.
