  • Common names:  African tulip, Fireball, Flame of the forest , Flame tree , Fountain tree
  • Scientific name: Spathodea campanulata
  • Native to: Tropical West Africa
  • Habit: Tree growing up to 24m.
  • Leaves: Large compound leaves with up to 17 leaflets.
  • Flowers: Large showy orange flowers.
  • Control measures: Refer to DAF guidelines in link below. Tree grows from seeds but also cuttings.
