Ever wondered who we are, what we do, or even what the letters mean….? We are a community organisation dedicated to the preservation and sustainable use of the Noosa River catchment. We are the “eyes and ears” of the catchment and have been since 1996. We attract funding into the Noosa River Catchment for Projects that implement the Noosa River Catchment Management Strategy.
NICA currently has vacancies for volunteers to assist with several projects; The Volunteer River Rangers are out on the river each week, using NICA’s boat, engaged in WaterWatch, River Watch, Sand Island Weeding and Bird Counts. The Girraween bushcare group is part of Noosa Council’s Bushland Care Group programme. The group meets the last Tuesday of the month, new volunteers welcome, come and join us and have morning tea.
To be an active volunteer at NICA we need you, for insurance purposes, to be a financial member of NICA. If you have other skills or project ideas please contact us? In regard to Covid NICA is following all State Government guidelines.
