Once again NICA’s walks as part of the SCC Wildfower Festival were a great success. In excess of 85 people attended the 4 walks at Mangrove Boardwalk, Girraween Nature Reserve, Arthur Harrold at North Shore and Noosa National Park at Sunshine Beach.
The Wildflower Festival is an event that celebrates the seasonal change of spring with the beautiful wildflower displays that emerge across the Sunshine Coast landscape.
Kathleen McArthur, an artist, author, environmentalist and founding member of the Wildlife Preservation Society of Queensland, developed the festival in 1967. Since then it has grown into a much-anticipated annual event with local community groups hosting a number of activities.
Thanks to Sunshine Coast Council for the opportunity be involved and to our volunteer presenters; Dr Sue Davis, Dave Burrows, Ryan Heeney and Maddison Brown.
The wildflowers were out in bloom and the weather was perfect.
