A few years ago, Bruce Hallett, together with other NICA members, Roger Kelly and Bob Carey, installed a native bee hive at the Sunshine Beach Primary School near their permaculture garden.
At the beginning of February this year, another one was put in at the Tewantin Primary School vegie garden, with assistance from Deputy Principal Rick Cass.
After the bees had been busy for about 6 weeks, we opened it up to show some grade 2 students how much they had built in such a short time. They were very interested.
