NICA looks forward to finalising its submission toward Maritime Safety Queensland’s recently announced review and consultation of speed limits and zoning within the Noosa River system (link: ). Intended to improve safety in the busy lower reaches of the Noosa River, MSQ is proposing to implement a permanent six-knot speed limit from the river mouth through to the Thomas Street boat ramp. The review follows concerns raised by both the Noosa River Stakeholder Advisory Committee and the broader community. NICA members are encouraged to provide input to the NICA Committee at admin@noosariver.com.au to help guide our submission along with providing their own submissions on the proposal. The consultation closes 16 March, 2022.
