At Monday on the Deck on 17-5-16 Joan Heavey talked this NICA project which is a three year assault on Singapore daisy at 4 locations across Noosa.  Singapore daisy was introduced by nurseries into Australia in the 1970s as an attractive ground cover and bank stabilizer and has become a prolific environmental weed.  It adapts its growing habit to suit many situations, smothering shrubs and small trees.  NICA received a State Govt Everyone’s Environment grant of $98,363 which has been extremely successfully managed by volunteer bush land coordinator Jill Campbell.
