NICA applauds noted local visual artists, Rosie Lloyd-Giblett, Helena Jackson Lloyd and Yanni Van Zijl, together the “Eco Trio”, on their ongoing initiative, entitled “A River’s Tale”. The initiative is intended to raise awareness of the importance and fragility of the Noosa River ecosystem through visual art.

ECOtrio22  share the importance of the various environmental groups who assist with monitoring and helping with keeping the Noosa River and everything within it by sharing posts online with our art under ECOtrio22 on Instagram and Facebook.  In addition to this they will deliver an art workshop with the students from the Flexi college to use ART as a means to discuss the importance of the river and how as custodians they can have a roll in helping look after it for generations to come. Art as a means for discussion and understanding is a great way to share environmental messaging.

NICA looks forward to supporting the Eco Trio in their endeavours around the river and we can’t wait to view the completed works. The project has been made possible by a grant from the Regional Arts Development Fund – a partnership between the Queensland State Government and Noosa Shire Council.
