On 5th March 30 people came to hear about the local history, indigenous cultural history and native vegetation of the Lake Cooroibah area. The land from Tewantin to Cooroibah, bounded by Wooroi Creek, McKinnon Drive, Lake Cooroibah Road, and Lakeway Drive is largely in conservation tenure. It is part of the Lake Cooroibah Sub-catchment and having it in its natural vegetated condition helps contribute good quality runoff entering the Noosa River System.
This is the first of a series of free excursions around the Noosa Catchment to celebrate NICA’s 20th Anniversary of Catchment Care. For further info go to the Project Page.
