The Noosa Council Draft River Plan is not yet endorsed and is waiting on further community feedback before finalisation. A key input to this will be the newly developed Noosa River Stakeholder Advisory Committee, in partnership with Maritime Safety Queensland, who will provide feedback on community priorities to inform the final version of the new Noosa River Plan.
At 28 Working Bees, 275 volunteers worked for 681 hours collected 16 tons of rubbish, filled Pink Skips with 6,600 kg weed overburden, mounded, sweated and mulched on site 40 cubic metres of weeds. Erosion control jute mat and coir logs were used as needed on the steep banks and to restrict pollutants entering the spring fed wetland and creek.
If you take a wander along BA 54 & 55 at Peregian Beach you’ll notice the work that’s being undertaken as part of Noosa Council’s 3 Yr Multi Grant ‘Coastal Connect’ which sees a collaboration between 6 Bushcare teams & their contractors to rehabilitate over 3 years
NICA was pleased to host the first event of SCEC's 2021 World Environment Day calendar this week. The group took to the Noosa River on Tuesday, to enjoy the autumn weather, visit key migratory shorebird habitat

Weed of the Month for May is Indian Hawthorn Raphiolepis indica. Indian hawthorn is an attractive shrub that is seen in gardens and finding its way into the bush.
