I’m experimenting with groundcovers in hanging baskets.
So far I have learned that the pots I used (ones I had already) were a bit small. After just a few weeks the plants have filled them, done their thing and are trying to escape (preferably into the garden I expect). However, I will persevere with larger containers and let you know how that goes. For those of us with small gardens, town houses and even balcony gardens, it is important to find out the secrets of pot culture. The bees don’t seem to care that they are in pots and are regular visitors.
Here’s a good article from Angus Stewart in New South Wales:
I would be interested to hear any ideas, tips and experiences you may have had with growing native plants in containers. If you send your comments or ideas to uwg@noosariver.com.au, they can be shared and we can build up a data base of information on this subject. If you have questions, we can share these too.
