NICA’s Urban Wildlife Garden members were treated to a highly informative propagation workshop in the sublime propagation shed of knowledgeable presenter Robert Price in Old Tewantin.
Members received detailed explanations on how to successfully propagate a range of native species, preparing the best soil mix and how to identify and treat differing seed pods of our local region.
The morning was packed full of interesting information and we were also treated to a wonderful walk through Robert’s beautifully maintained Garden. Robert and his wife Linda’ s labour of love is an enchanting half acre block filled with natives from our local region and the tropical far north. Some new and exciting species such as the climbing pandanus made for an interesting walk for new gardeners and seasoned veterans.
Robert kindly also allowed participants to bring their own species in for advice on how to successfully propagate from seed and cuttings.
A delightful morning made possible by Stephanie and Tony Haslam and Michelle Newell from NICA.
