Event 8

Sand Island weeding and seed collecting and learning about marine plants from Bruce Hallett.

Sand Island needs our attention ASAP. We haven’t visited there since last November as we’ve been letting the Migratory Birds rest up for their 12,00km flight home.

Imagine what would happen if the birds had to fly over a war-zone.  It’s bad enough for them that man yof their feeding wetlands have been filled for housing, so they have to fly non-stop.

If you haven’t been to Sand Island before, it is a lovely full morning going by pontoon boat.

  • When: Thursday 26 March
  • Where: Depart ‘O’ Boats Gympie Tce (next to the Tennis Courts) 7.30am sharp. Return 11.30am
  • Morning Tea: Always on the boat
  • RSVP: Please email Jill by 23 March ; jandjili@bigpond.net.au
