At NICA’s boat launch members of NICA celebrated the much-anticipated new boat. It is a MicroCat with enhanced safety features and stability for volunteers. It will be very useful for NICA’s activities on the river. A vote for the name was held and the winner was ‘Osprey/Catchment Care’!!
The purchase of the boat was supported by a Gambling Community Benefit Fund grant.
We also took the opportunity to thank Bruce McConkey. As coordinator of the WaterWatch program from 2005 to 2023, Bruce organised his team of volunteers for their monthly water test runs out on the Noosa River.
