This past week, NICA was pleased to announce the launch of the “Enter the Flyosphere” shorebird awareness initiative. Focused around a new interpretive exhibit at the Noosa River mouth, the initiative highlights the iconic but threatened shorebird species of the estuary and the epic migration of many to our shores. A short film, accessed via QR code from the interpretive signage, or from NICA’s Youtube channel, showcases the shorebirds and our estuary. The initiative is dedicated to NICA’s hardworking shorebird team, proudly supported by Noosa Council under the 2021 Environment Grants Program, and produced in partnership with Panga Productions.
