Its breeding season for a lot of our local fauna and that means a lot of movement. Looking for a mate and nest building forces fauna to cover areas they don’t normally do at other times of the year. My property has male echidnas out most nights making a ruckus as they move through the leaf litter.
Birds are out collecting material for nests. A simple way we can help them and encourage them to visit our garden is to leave building material out. Try having some coconut husks out of the weather in a spot that can be observed from a window. Once they know it’s there, they will visit regularly and fly away with a beak full. Hair pegged to a line also provides nesting material.
Unfortunately, with animals moving about, it puts them in harms way. If you see injured wildlife the contacts below can help.
