Back in the day I grew this in my flat as a water plant in a Chianti bottle.   Today it is ramping up trees in bushland behind my house. I don’t think I planted it (who knows after 27 years).

Syngoniums (Syngonium spp.) are regarded as environmental weeds in Queensland, where they invade urban bush land, riparian vegetation, coastal environs, open woodlands and closed forests. They climb trees and cover the ground.

Hand pull isolated plants and small infestations, making sure that all roots and stem fragments are removed. Plant pieces should either be bagged and taken to the dump or hung up off the ground to prevent re-shooting.

Unfortunately, the more you know about weeds, the more they haunt you as you feel responsibility for their spread.
