NICA is pleased to announce the Friends of Kinaba (FOK) were successful in their recent application to the Queensland Community Gambling Fund. Funding from the grant application will be used by FOK to acquire a new boat (and trailer) to support their conservation and maintenance works on the Kinaba Information Centre in partnership with the Queensland Parks & Wildlife Service. The new boat will also be used for water testing in the upper reaches of the river catchment, as well as some clean ups around the lake.
FOK has commenced the procurement and fit out of the new vessel and we eagerly look forward to its launch on the waters of Lake Cootharaba shortly. NICA is proud to support the FOK team and to auspice this grant application on their behalf. For more details check in at www.kinaba.org.
