On the morning of Monday 3rd May, 16 volunteers went over to the sand island at the mouth of the river to continue our battle against the invasive weeds. We removed 12 large bags of corky passion vine (Passiflora suberosa) and cobbler’s pegs (Bidens pilosa), plus some bottles, cans and plastic bags (and also a pillow!)

A great morning tea was provided (although the crows did manage to get into the bread rolls stored on the pontoon boat while we were absent) and we even had a BBQ this time

We left plenty of weeds, just in case anyone else is keen to help next time.
