Noosa Council have asked NICA to assist with a beach clean-up on 31st January at Beach Access 36, Tingira Cresent, Sunrise Beach.
- This is in readiness for turtle hatchling season – Jan, Feb, March.
- Turtles prefer to hatch on a full moon. There is one 1st Feb and another on 3rd March.
- This is the 4th year Noosa Council have partnered with Sunshine Coast Council to deliver this initiative.
- The event is held to increase community awareness on threats to sea turtles and our coastal environments, while helping to prevent impacts on sea turtles from marine debris.

We are seeking volunteers to help us with this beach clean-up event.
- Saturday 31st January 2026, 6am to 7.30am
- Beach Access 36, Tingira Cresent, Sunrise Beach
- RSVP to NICA admin@noosariver.com.au
ALSO: As an added initiative we will take the “Osprey” out on the Noosa River for an added clean up, as litter washes out through the river mouth to the beaches. For those who haven’t yet had the pleasure to come aboard, please register your interest. Time as yet to be decided.
We always welcome new members and existing members to get involved in activities which meet your interests.
A couple of drivers with a tow-bar, to help launch the boat at the yacht club, by reversing the trailer to the boat ramp, once or twice a month, would be most welcome.
