The following are some great organisations that work hard to reduce waste in Queensland.

Noosa Shire Council has information on general, organic and recyclable waste solutions for the shire. Have look at their A-Z Waste guide and their great information about worm-farming and composting.

Noosa Integrated Catchment Association (NICA) is a non-for-profit, natural resource management organisation, who work with the community to protect the natural environment and achieve a sustainable future for everyone. They are very active in revegetation projects, removing litter from waterways and publishing environmental books.

Boomerang Bags promote reusable bags by encouraging communities to make bags from unwanted materials and have them available at local stores. Noosa Shire Council is a proud supporter.

Keep Queensland Beautiful have a great Cleaner Greener Schools program.

Clean Up Australia run the national Clean Up Australia Day and various other initiatives.

Healthy Waterways work throughout South East Queensland to promote waterway health and score each catchment annually.

Planet Ark‘s objectives are to promote sustainable resource use, encourage a low carbon lifestyle and connect people with nature. They have an excellent website called Recycling Near You. It provides all the information you need on what, when and where you can recycle anything that could be recycled.
